Chaoyang District, Beijing, China

After a few weeks in Beijing, we felt adventurous enough to tackle the public transit system.  Until now, we had been using Didi (an app based ride system like Uber) and transportation the school set up.  This seemed like a big adventure so we decided to go to a park not too far away.  The trip there was easy and inexpensive at 4 RMB per person, which is around $.75.  We discovered that Chaoyang Park was huge and very well known to runners, families, and others looking for a bit of nature in Beijing.  It gave us a welcome relief from the traffic and noise and we all felt more relaxed after walking around the park for awhile.  We discovered trails, trees, flower gardens, a lake with a water park and boats, and even an amusement park.  We had a great day not only exploring the park, but also the public transit in Beijing!

This was one of the rides at the amusement park.  It was stopped because rain started falling and when we looked closely, it was a bit creepy!!
